Last updated: February 22, 2026
1. Introduction
This Customer Agreement sets forth the terms and conditions for the use of MECHi services provided by Auto Canada Expo Inc. By opening, registering, or using a MECHi Account, or by otherwise using our Services, you agree to be bound by this Customer Agreement and consent to receive communications in electronic format. You also agree to comply with our Privacy Policy and Acceptable Use Policy.
2. Registration & Eligibility
MECHi is registered in Canada with FINTRAC (C100000058) and Revenu Québec (17385) as a Money Services Business. To be eligible for our Services, you must be at least 18 years old, resident in a supported country, and acting exclusively for your own benefit and not on behalf of any third party. You must comply with all our information requirements including identification and verification checks.
3. Account Obligations & Security
You must provide complete, accurate, and truthful information during signup. You are responsible for maintaining adequate security and control of any IDs, passwords, or details used to access your MECHi Account. You must never disclose your password or let anyone access your account. You must notify us immediately if you suspect your account has been compromised. We rely on you to regularly check your transaction history.
4. Holding a Balance & CDIC Notice
MECHi is not a bank. Value held as a balance in your MECHi Account represents an unsecured claim against MECHi and is not insured by the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC) or any other deposit insurance scheme. We safeguard your funds by keeping them separate from our company funds. You may hold a balance in multiple supported currencies and are responsible for all risks associated with maintaining a multi-currency balance.
5. Depositing & Sending Money
You may deposit money to convert currency, send to another person, or hold a balance. We may impose limits on inbound and outbound transfers for legal and security reasons. We use our best endeavors to ensure transactions are completed quickly, but we do not control third-party processing times. We may delay a transaction if we need to confirm or verify any information to our satisfaction.
6. Currency Conversion & Fees
A conversion fee, foreign exchange rate, or both may apply when we perform a currency conversion. We will let you know the applicable exchange rate and all charges before you confirm the transaction. Once payment instructions have been executed, transactions cannot be cancelled or reversed. You are responsible for any taxes which may be applicable to payments you make or receive.
7. Issues, Reversals & Chargebacks
You are responsible for all reversals, chargebacks, claims, and fees incurred by MECHi caused by your breach of this agreement. If your MECHi Account balance becomes negative for any reason, that negative balance represents an amount you owe to MECHi and must be repaid immediately. We will protect you from unauthorized activity and errors as long as you cooperate with us and notify us promptly.
8. Closing Your Account
You may close your MECHi Account at any time by contacting Customer Support. If you still have money in your account, you must withdraw it within a reasonable period. MECHi reserves the right to suspend or close your account at our sole discretion, including if we suspect fraudulent activity, money laundering, other criminal or illegal activity or a breach of these terms. You will continue to be responsible for all obligations related to your account even after it is closed.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MECHi and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill resulting from your use of our services, delays, or the actions of third parties. We provide the Services 'as is' and without any warranty or condition, express, implied or statutory.
10. Data Protection
Your privacy is very important to us. In order to provide you with our services, we are required to collect and process personal data about you to meet our obligations for Anti-Money Laundering legislation. We will keep and retain information and data you submit in accordance with applicable law, after which time the data will be archived or deleted.
11. Governing Law & Complaints
This agreement is governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. If you have a question or complaint regarding the Services, please contact our Customer Service at support@mechi.net. We may communicate with you electronically either by email, SMS, or by posting notices on the App.
